DivInc Hosts Empowering Women in Venture Panel
Women leaders are one of the key driving forces behind removing barriers experienced by female founders in the tech ecosystem.
On August 25, we hosted a panel of four leading women in venture capital. The dynamic discussion covered everything from how to be successful in the fundraising space as a founder or investor, to the unique challenges faced by women investors, and how to build relationships with investors that are genuine and long-lasting.
Check out the event recap video and meet our panel!
Meet The Panelists:
I saw the lack of women in tech, and so I knew that whatever I did as a VC I wanted to dedicate my time and resources to supporting underrepresented founders - a lot of them women of color.
- Pilar Johnson, Co-Founder & Managing Partner @ Debut Capital
As a VC and as the Artemis Fund, we are a team of badass women investing in only female founded and co-founded companies. Over 65% of our investors are women.
- Diana Murakhovskaya, Co-Founder & General Partner @ The Artemis Fund
The amount of women founders that are funded by VC is less than 2% per year…So I needed to do something about it. So, I started a company that only invests in minority founders.
- Andrea Course, Principal @ Shell Ventures & Founder of Course Investments
As a VC I like to support women in tech by opening doors for them. A lot of times it’s a lack of network that hurts women trying to raise VC funding.
- Samantha Lewis, Principal @ Mercury
